By Dean Barker The Clover Hill Bucks put together an offensive onslaught in a 22-2 seven inning win at the Elkton Blue Sox on Wednesday, July 12. With the win, the Bucks improved to 13-6, while the Blue Sox fell to 0-21. Jaden Isidro got the win to improve to 3-0, pitching five innings and giving up two earned runs on seven hits with two walks and seven strikeouts. Sam Woerner pitched the last two innings, giving up no runs on no hits with no walks and a strikeout. “We got out to a lead early, and that let me just cruise and pitch my game,” Isidro said. “Our team hit really well.” Colby Cave took the loss to fall to 0-1, pitching an inning and a third and giving up nine runs (four earned) on five hits with four walks and no strikeouts. Taran Baker pitched an inning and two thirds and gave up five runs (two earned) on five hits with three walks and two strikeouts. Ryan Wright pitched an inning and gave up six runs (one earned) on five hits with two walks and a strikeout. Wyatt Estep pitched three innings and gave up two earned runs on four hits with two walks and no strikeouts. John Siciliano and Bryce Suters got the Bucks on the board first with two out doubles to center in the first to make it 3-0. TJ Johnson would double to left to make it 4-0 in the second. Siciliano’s grounder to short was thrown away with the bases loaded, allowing two runs to score. Lucas Bauer’s grounder to short was bobbled, making way for the Bucks to extend the lead to 8-0. Alex Knicely brought in two more with an RBI single, and Josh Eberly crushed a two run shot over the center field wall to make it 12-0. “Just a simple approach,” Eberly said of his team’s approach at the plate. “Keep it simple up there and just hit it back where it came from.” With bases loaded and two outs in the bottom of the second, Hunter Shifflett hit a ball off the center field wall to cut the lead to 12-2. Bryce Suters drove a ball over the right field wall to push the lead to 14-2 in the third. Bryce Suters’ grounder got past the second baseman in the fourth, making the lead 15-2. Kyle Carlson ripped a single to right to add another run. Alex Knicely ripped a triple to center with two on, and a wild throw to third allowed him to come home for a little league home run, making it 19-2 Bucks. Siciliano followed it up with a solo shot to left. Josh Eberly hit a two run shot in the top of the sixth to make it 22-2, which is how the game would end. The Bucks had 22 runs on nineteen hits with two errors and 13 runners left on base. Every Bucks starter had at least one hit. Eberly went 4-5 with two home runs and three RBIs. Suters was 2-5 with four RBIs. Knicely was 3-5 with four RBIs. Johnson was 2-5 with two RBIs The Blue Sox had two runs on seven hits with four errors and seven runners left on base. Shifflett was 1-3 with two RBIs. Garrett Critzer was 2-3. Wright and Dusty Cash were both 1-3. Pedro Mendez was 1-4. The Bucks will be back in action when they travel to the RCBL Shockers on Friday, July 14 at 7:30 pm. The Blue Sox will travel to the Stuarts Draft Diamondbacks on Friday, July 14 at 7:30 pm.
