Pitchers Kirk Messisk, New Market Shockers Also winning RCBL Pitcher of the Year, Kirk Messick was a shoo-in for the All RCBL Team. Messick led the league with a 5-0 record and was second in ERA with 2.14.
Jacob Bell, Broadway Bruins Jacob Bell had an outstanding year in his first season in the RCBL, leading the league with a 1.93 ERA. Bell went 2-0 in the regular season and struck out 47 batters in 32.2 innings.
Lance Tate, Montezuma Braves Lance Tate was a key part of a solid regular season for the Braves. Tate was 3-0 on the mound, and was fifth in the league with 40 strikeouts.
Joel Smith, New Market Shockers Joel Smith was one of the Shockers’ many weapons on the mound this year, pitching two complete games, second most in the league. Smith went 3-0, and allowed just 20 hits in five games.
Catchers Dylan Nicely, Grottoes Cardinals Dylan Nicely made it back onto the All RCBL team after doing so last year. Defensively, Nicely led the league in putouts (132) and assists (9), and offensively had 28 hits and 26 RBIs.
Caleb Taylor, Broadway Bruins Caleb Taylor was one of the best catchers in the league in 2021. Taylor was second in assists at 8, had a .988 fielding percentage, and went .339 at the plate.
Infielders Frankie Ritter, New Market Shockers Frankie Ritter makes the All RCBL team with a 1.000 fielding percentage and 30 assists. On the base paths, Ritter was a terror, leading the league in runs (28) and stolen bases (22).
Zach Roberts, Stuarts Draft Diamondbacks Zach Roberts was the league MVP for 2021. Roberts led the league with a .457 batting average and 37 hits. Pearce Bucher, New Market Shockers Pearce Bucher was a reliable spot in the New Market lineup. Bucher was third in the RCBL with a .417 batting average.
Brett Tharp, Bridgewater Reds Brett Tharp was awarded a spot on the All RCBL team after a solid season for the Reds. Tharp hit for .386 with 22 hits, and was second overall in stolen bases with 20.
Will Haas, Stuarts Draft Diamondbacks Will Haas was a key in helping the Diamondbacks to a third place finish. Haas hit for .404 and had ten assists in the field.
Outfielders Henry Delavergne, New Market Shockers Henry Delavergne returns to the All RCBL team for the second year in a row. Delavergne was fourth in the league with 30 hits, third in runs scored with 25, and tied for fourth in home runs with four.
Keegan Woolford, Grottoes Cardinals Keegan Wolford makes the All RCBL team for the second time, doing so as designated hitter in 2018. Wolford had a stellar year at the plate, leading the league in home runs with nine and in RBIs with 29.
Terrell Thompson, Stuarts Draft Diamondbacks Terrell Thompson was a staple for the Diamondbacks in 2021, being second on the team with nine stolen bases. Thompson hit .381 with 24 hits and 13 RBIs.
Trent Abernathy, Broadway Bruins Trent Abernathy was a leader for the Bruins in their quest to defend their 2021 title. Abernathy was second in the league with a .437 average, and was a team player, leading the league with four sacrifice flies.
Designated Hitter JJ Loker, Elkton Bluesox JJ Loker made the All RCBL team for the second year in a row, having done so in 2020 as well. Loker batted .269 with fourteen hits and fourteen RBIs during the 2021 regular season. Utility Derek Shifflett, Bridgewater Reds Derek Shifflet was a threat in whatever he did for the Reds this season. Leading RCBL pitchers in strikeouts with 65, Shifflet also had 16 hits and 12 walks from the plate.
