Terrell Thompson and Seth Comer have been named the Bob Wade Player and Pitcher of the Week for the first week of the RCBL season.

Thompson, the centerfielder for the Stuarts Draft Diamondbacks, is 4-for-8 on the season with four RBIs, two walks, and a stolen base.

All four of his RBIs came in the Diamondbacks’ season opener against Elkton in which he went 2-for-4 with two runs scored on the night. In Stuarts Draft’s next game against Grottoes, Thompson went 2-for-4 again, scoring one run and adding a stolen base for the Dbacks.

The Diamondbacks are back in action Tuesday night as they travel to Montezuma for a matchup with the Braves, the second time the two teams will face this season.

New Market’s Seth Comer led the Shockers to their first win of the season on May 27, picking up a 5-2 victory over the Broadway Bruins.

Comer went six innings that night, striking out five batters and allowing just three hits. The only run Comer allowed was unearned, leaving his ERA at a league-leading 0.00.

New Market will be in action tonight as the Shockers face Clover Hill at Buck Bowman Park. Tonight’s game is a makeup that was originally supposed to be played on Friday, June 1, but was postponed due to rain.
