By Nolan Potts Bridgewater scored in six of the eight innings they hit in and took Game 3 against Broadway by a final score of 10-3 and find themselves one win away from returning to the RCBL Finals. The Reds jumped out to a 6-0 lead after four innings and despite Broadway scoring two in the sixth and one in the seventh, Bridgewater answered with runs in those innings, as well, plus two more in the eighth. Corbin Lucas had a monster day at the plate, going 4-5 with five RBI and two runs scored. Malachi Simmons went 3-4 with three RBI and a home run, while Mason Hamilton went 3-3 with three runs scored. Cam Herron and Chris Huffman each also had two hits for the Reds. On the mound, veteran right-hander Derek Shifflett picked up the win. He went the first eight innings and allowed just three hits, three runs (one earned) and struck out seven while throwing 120 pitches. He turned it over to Colton Harlow for the ninth, and the former minor leaguer struck out the side on just eleven pitches. Broadway got a double and a run scored from Jayden Nixon and an RBI from Gavin Cunningham, as well as a hit each from Micah Canterbury and Bryce Turner. Game 4 of the series is scheduled for Tuesday night at Broadway High School starting at 7:00 PM.
