By Nolan Potts The Bridgewater Reds, who have already clinched the regular season title, improved to 17-4 after a 6-2 victory over the Broadway Bruins. Issac Van Meter went the first four innings for the Reds and allowed two runs on six hits before turning it over to Pat Burke. Burke dominated the rest of the way, going the last five innings, allowing just three hits and striking out eight. At the plate, Chris Huffman went 2-5 with an RBI, Corbin Lucas also went 2-5, Jordan Yankey went 2-4 with an RBI, and Malachi Simmons also drove in a run for Bridgewater. Broadway got two hits each from Carl Keenan, Seth Moomaw, and Kevin Rush. The only RBI for the Bruins was from head coach Mitchell Wilson, who was forced into duty due to low player attendance for Broadway in this game. Connor Michael, Micah Canterbury, and Gavin Cunningham all had one hit each. On the mound for Broadway, the bright spot was Carl Keenan, who pitched the seventh and eighth innings and allowed just one hit, no walks, and struck out five batters. Bridgewater plays again on Tuesday night when they travel to Clover Hill, while the Bruins (9-12) are back in action on Tuesday when they travel to Spotswood High School to take on Massanutten.
