Tyler Mahone and Kris Lalk have been named the Bob Wade Player and Pitcher of the Week for the sixth week of the 2018 RCBL season.

Mahone helped lead the Bridgewater Reds to three wins this week while batting .435 with three home runs and 15 RBIs.

Mahone hit three home runs in a game against Broadway on July 2. Bridgewater ended up losing the game 15-13, but the Reds’ catcher finished the night 3-for-5 with three runs scored and eight RBIs.

In Tuesday night’s game against Stuarts Draft, Mahone went 3-for-4 from the plate with two runs scored and six RBIs as the Reds dismantled the Dbacks 22-3.

Mahone had two more multi-hit games this week, going 2-for-5 in an 8-0 win over Draft on Friday before finishing the night 2-for-4 in an 11-10 loss to Grottoes Sunday night.

Following his stellar week, Mahone leads the league in RBIs with 26. He is fourth in batting average, hitting .373 on the season, and seventh in home runs with four.

Bridgewater is currently 12-5 on the season and in third place in the West. The Reds will be back in action Tuesday night as they host Elkton.

Kris Lalk struck out 16 batters on Sunday night as he earned a 6-1 victory over New Market. The Elkton starter pitched eight innings, allowing just one run on six hits and setting a new season-high for strikeouts in a single game.

The victory was Lalk’s first of 2018. The first-year pitcher currently leads the league in strikeouts with 65 on the season.

Elkton will travel to Bridgewater on Tuesday night in an interdivision matchup. The Blue Sox are currently 7-9 on the season and have won their last two games.
