Brian Bocock and Corey Armentrout have been named the Bob Wade Player and Pitcher of the Week for the eighth week of the RCBL season.
Bocock batted .520 during the week with two home runs and nine RBIs as he helped lead the Reds to four wins. He had four multi-hit games this week, including two three-hit games and one four-hit game.
The Reds started the week with a 17-4 win over Stuarts Draft, a game in which Bocock went 3-for-5 with three runs scored and a home run.
After a 6-3 loss to Broadway on Wednesday, the Reds dominated in a 14-0 win over Elkton. Bocock finished the night 3-for-5 with two runs scored and his second home run of the week. He also drove in four runs on the night.
On Friday night, Bocock had four hits against Montezuma as he came around to score twice in a 13-1 win. The former Major-Leaguer finished the week with a 2-for-5 night at home against the Braves as the Reds won 11-6.
Bridgewater finishes out the season with games this week against Elkton and New Market, both at home.
Corey Armentrout got the start for Clover Hill on Sunday night in a matchup against the New Market Shockers. The reigning Pitcher of the Year pitched eight shutout innings as the Bucks clinched the pennant.
Armentrout struck out 11 batters while only giving up two hits and one walk as Clover Hill won 9-0. He improves to 4-0 on the season with 45 strikeouts.
The Bucks finish out the season on the road Tuesday against Grottoes.
